Roker Park play coming this Autumn

After some meetings with writer Tom Kelly, and negotiations with various venues in the North-East, I’m delighted to announce that in September 2014 I’ll be appearing in Tom’s one-man play, ‘I Left My Heart In Roker Park’.  We’ll be opening at The Customs House in South Shields on 19th September 2014 where we’ll play two nights, and then taking it on tour around the region.  (More dates and venues to be announced.)

It’s a wonderful piece, set outside Roker Park (the ground where Sunderland AFC used to play before they moved to the Stadium of Light) in the Summer of 1997.  Roker Park is being demolished and Kevin Halliday, lifelong Sunderland supporter, compares his life and loves with his beloved team.

Not only will I be appearing in it, but I’ll also be producing it with my company Cranked Anvil.  You can read about the project in more detail here.
